StreetView changelog
What changed in each released version of AzerothGPS StreetView.
1.0.5#
Released October 6, 2026
- 157 more street views: released alongside the 2026.10.06 picture packs, 2,031 street views in all. Side roads to farms, mines, camps and tombs, and quieter roads that had none near enough, now have their own, from Stranglethorn to the Plaguelands, across Kalimdor, in Riverglades and on Zephras Isle.
- Same addon as 1.0.4 otherwise. The CurseForge app updates the four picture packs with it.
1.0.4#
Released October 6, 2026
- A longer lobby that waits for your link: a multiplayer game now counts down 1 minute, and the countdown starts only once your link is in chat (when you press Enter), not when you open the game.
1.0.3#
Released October 5, 2026
- "Street View Pictures Missing" is a little wider, so each pack's line fits on one line, "installed since you logged in: log out and back in" included.
1.0.2#
Released October 5, 2026
- The picture packs install with StreetView: the CurseForge app now brings all four (Eastern Kingdoms North and South, Kalimdor North and South) and AzerothGPS along when you install StreetView. Same addon as 1.0.1 otherwise.
1.0.1#
Released October 4, 2026
The picture packs#
- Four packs, all needed: the street views come in AzerothGPS StreetView Eastern Kingdoms North and South, and Kalimdor North and South (each one small enough for CurseForge). StreetView and Where in the Azeroth? both need all four, and the CurseForge app installs them with StreetView.
- A clear note when one isn't ready: "Street View Pictures Missing" lists all four packs with how each stands: installed, missing, off (enable it in the AddOns list, then /reload), or installed since you logged in. Each one to download gets its own page to copy, and the note opens over the AzerothGPS map.
- Packs switched on after you log in work: enable one in the AddOns list and /reload, and its street views show. A pack installed while WoW is running needs you to log out and back in (or restart WoW), and StreetView tells you so before a game starts or is joined, instead of starting and then finding nothing.
AzerothGPS#
- Missing or too old? StreetView now loads without AzerothGPS and says so: "AzerothGPS Needed" (missing or off) or "AzerothGPS Too Old" (it needs 1.1.0 or later), with its page to copy.
Memory#
- Closing the street view frees its pictures. The last spot's pictures used to stay in memory until you opened it again. Long use doesn't grow memory either.
/sv memshows StreetView's memory and the pictures it holds.
1.0.0#
Released October 3, 2026
The first public release! Here's what's in it.
Street View#
- Over 1,600 street views along the roads of the Eastern Kingdoms, Kalimdor and Zephras Isle, about one every 200 yards. Each one is a full 360-degree panorama.
- The pictures come in their own downloads, four picture packs (about 1.2 GB in all): AzerothGPS StreetView Eastern Kingdoms North and South, and Kalimdor North and South. The CurseForge app installs them with StreetView, and they update only when new street views come out, so StreetView's own updates stay small. Missing one? StreetView tells you which, and where to get it.
- The cities are in: walk the streets of Stormwind, Orgrimmar, Darnassus and Thunder Bluff, wander the Undercity's halls and canals, and head down into Ironforge.
- Step inside: Stormwind Keep and the Cathedral, the inns, Thunder Bluff's tents, Orgrimmar's halls and Ironforge's, lit the way they glow in the game.
- Every dungeon and raid boss: 205 of them, in 26 dungeons and raids from Ragefire Chasm to Naxxramas. Shift-click a boss on its dungeon's map to see them in their room (needs AzerothGPS 1.1.0 or later).
- Wildlife: the creatures that live along the roads are out and about in the street views.
- A few dozen famous spots, picked by hand and framed on their best view: Booty Bay, Gadgetzan, Lakeshire, the Crossroads, Light's Hope Chapel and plenty more.
- Drag the figure off the AzerothGPS map onto a road to open the nearest street view. The road network
lights up while you drag. Or just click the figure (or type
/sv here) for the one nearest you. - Drag the picture to look around, zoom with the mouse wheel, and click the white arrows on the ground to walk down the road. The window's title shows the zone and coordinates, and the map shows where you're looking from.
- A cleaner window: the picture fills it, and the logo sits in the frame's corner.
- Every picture got re-rendered with water, each zone's own light, and better placement. No more views from inside a tree, a wall or under the water.
Where in the Azeroth?#
- A guessing game on your map. You get a street view, double-click the map where you think it is, and score by how close you were. You get it all within 25 yards, and nothing on the wrong continent.
- The middle of nowhere pays more: a spot near a town, flight master, named place or landmark is worth 100 points, and a road out in the wilds up to 200.
- Play it your way: Solo, Against Bots (four opponents named after Classic legends like Thrall, Jaina Proudmoore and Hogger, all played inside your own game), or Link: the game's link goes into your chat box for your party, raid, a whisper, say, guild or a channel, you send it, and whoever clicks it joins. It shows the level and rounds up front, and there are no popups. Up to 10 players, and the game paces its messages so nobody misses a street view; its hidden chat channel is left as soon as the game ends.
- Three levels: Normal (the terrain map), Heroic (the world map with every zone revealed) and Mythic (the world map with nothing revealed). The host picks, and everyone's map is locked to it for the game.
- 1, 3 or 5 rounds of 30 seconds, 10 seconds between rounds, and a 30-second lobby that everyone sees counting down.
- Everything's on the picture: the street view's corner shows the level, the round, the time left, what the round is worth and the live player list. Hit - to shrink it down to just the timer. The panel on the map keeps it short: the round, the time and your guess.
- The player list shows five players at a time and scrolls, and your own row always stays in view. During a round it only shows who's guessed. Points show up with the result, and ties go to the closer guess, shown with decimals.
- A proper finish: "You win!" or where you placed, the winner's name rolling through the colors, and a glowing celebration when you score 75% or more.
- The answer gets a dotted line from each guess to the real spot. Hover a player's marker for their name and scores. A guess on another continent shows on the world map (Zephras Isle included).
- Safe to /reload: the game picks up right where it was and catches up on what everyone else did meanwhile.
- Fair play: only open-world and city spots come up, never dungeons or caves, and only ones every player has. The map hides your route, dungeons and transports during a game, then goes back to how you had it.
- WoW Forever's first and last names, everywhere.
